Sonnet of the Night
Location
The moon, so bright and glorious be,
The light, for such a time as night, impossible!
Is such a light possible
Shining brightly above as I sleep?
My sweet dreams, tender and deep
But when noise erupts, sounds so audible
I jump out of fear, night's loathsome tricks plausible
But of course, with endurance, rewards I will reap.
A new day awaits, the sun beaming with intent
And God's grace warms my soul
And night no longer gleams at my expense
If the night be so beautiful without my consent
And scares to maintain, tricks to own,
Then night's beauty was forged for its own content.
