The Song of the Siren

I wish there were something that I could say
That could take all your pain away.
I wish there were something that I could do
To show you just how much I love you.

I wish you could see I'm not as perfect as you thought....

If only I could show you-
Look through my eyes then you'll see!
The shattered girl that lies beneath the sea.
Alone and hungry, starved and cold
Her wounds that shattered dreams of old.

Her world is blackened, stained with soot
Her view obstructed, nowhere to look
Her mind's been molded too many times to hold a form
Her praises gone un answered, un headed, and ignored
She turns her back on her one and only Christ the Saviour, our lord.

A body mangled, over used and cast aside
She shivers like a rose, huddled wilting, ready to die..

If only I could show you-
Look through my eyes then you'll see!
The shattered girl that lies beneath the sea.
Alone and hungry, starved and cold
Her wounds that shattered dreams of old.

Alone and battered she cries for the man she does not know
Leaving breathless nothing's in the stale empty unknown
Her heart aches to feel the pain of a love lost but never fully gained
Bitter and broken she struggles to release her heart from old chains
Damaged and dazed from years of foul play, she hangs her head low, ready to let go...

A body mangled, over used and cast aside
She shivers like a rose, huddled wilting, ready to die..
