Somnus bids Man come
To lay neath his hypnotic sway

When all is done and we lay to rest
All consciousness seeps away

Morpheus materializes from the Shadows
Morphing the Void into what we now see

We're mesmerized by this never ending Rest
All is not what it seems to be

The Fort Walls of our Hearts are broken
Souls susceptible to Lies― they penetrate within

Man, Beast, and the Stagnant are ever transfiguring
Is this the recompense for our sin?

In time, scarce sense is gained
And we rise to a Somnambulistic Day

Twin brother of Mors, will you always bid Man Sleep?
As Time and Reality slips away…
