Skin as Dark as Chocolate

There once was a beautiful queen

She had skin like honey,

eyes like emerald,

and hair as big as cotton candy.

She was so beautiful

and kings traveled far and wide to make her their bride.

They brought extravagant gifts,

gold and silver and the finest silks.

None of this impressed the queen,

for she had a rich love of music.

One day, a poor beggar man came to the doors of the castle

On this particular day the queen was not in the mood

for gifts or for empty sweet talk

Just as the guards were sending him out he yelled,

"My queen I have a song for you!"

The queen was intrigued,

The beggar came in and sang the sweetest song that had ever touched her eyes

Then he gave her a piece of dark chocolate

It was the most delicious thing she'd ever tasted

She fell in love with him right there on the spot

They were married and the queen wished for a daughter

With skin as dark as chocolate and a voice as pretty as her father's

Not long after, a baby was born

Her name was Sweet Candy
