A Sight Always Remembered

Location

I smell the aura of destruction
All around Oklahoma
I feel the night all over again
All too well

I know the monster is coming near
I hide under the bed
I taste the roaring wind outside
It is finally here

The wind is so angry
The sound tears into my head
I am trapped inside the monster
And soon to be dead

I hear the pain of mother nature
Destroy the walls around me
I absorb the wind with my body
And into the painful sky I go

I wake up
The flourishing green is astray
All that remains is nothing
Because the monster has gone away

I never forget the stinging images
Of that one ugly day
I can still taste the pain
But I am here to stay
