Shattered

Scattered on the floor was a broken plate,
Her heart was already in the same place.
Once complete, now shattered, all was too late,
For sadness was written over her face.

She and her heart had once been calm like ice,
Yet warm and happy, filled with love’s delight.
But one day the love began to crawl with lice,
When he no longer loved and began to fight.

Shattered she was to know the end was here,
Though what was next she didn’t want to know.
Still she tried to live with strength, without fear,
With freedom to move forward like a doe.

While people at one point feel such sorrow,
They have hope to walk towards tomorrow.
