Shadows

All we are is

just shadows

Without bodies,

immaterialized.

What will matter then

sifting through dark

No flesh left to torture

no substance left to taint

This life haunts me

even when I close my eyes

Maybe when I lose my touch

When I lose my senses

I'll be myself again

Free from the curse of being alive in this world

Nothingness creeps closer to me

I feel it watching me

I exist but always just a step away

from sinking into the abyss of time forever

I can't move, entrapped in stone

Always just a second away

from becoming a shadow

Spending this life as a shadow

(and that's what I'll do in next).
