The Shade of Grey

We live in a world that's black and white,
Wrong and right,
And that's okay,
Because I am a different shade of grey,

I'm the shade of grey that a sunset casts,
One that lasts,
Hundreds of hours in space and time.

I'm the shade of grey that protesters wear,
Those that care,
About making the world a better place.

I'm the shade of grey that the ocean once was,
But will never again be,
Because we're scared to let it.

I'm the shade of grey that love once had,
That sex once had,
Before we demoralized it for the sake of money.

I'm the shade of grey in a college students eyes,
After a long night of study,
And one too many beers.

I'm the shade of grey that you can be,
That we can be,
And together,
We'll form a perfect rainbow.
