The Sense of Poetry

Beauty… The beauty of words

Connected without an arrangement to accompany.

This, I’ve learned, can shake the world with just a step.

The elixir of life exists endlessly

In written words spoken through the graphite of pencil,

The ink of pen,

The tap of keys…

Stories without pages,

Transcending the ages,

Freeing the mind from cages.

Perspectives… grab my hand,

Keep my head above the waterline…

I see what you can see, I feel what you can feel

Through perfected prose.

And with this, I’m taught the treacherous talent,

To provide written thoughts, emotions captured on paper,

Thoughts written to share with a neighbor, a friend,

A whole world.

Or even just me.
