Seniority

My grades define the person that I am,

Hard working or a hooligan,

Letters and numbers seem to have more importance than my well-being,

There is no sleep,

Infinite nights with essays and caffeinated drinks,

Time is quickly passing me by,

Deadlines corner me,

I shiver at the future that awaits me,

Scholarships and ACTs,

Stress and panic attacks,

I have a mountain of homework and procrastination pins me to the wall,

Hundreds plague my dreams,

Fears of failing expectations set for me are terrifying,

And there is more dread than anticipation for the moment I have to go on stage.
