Self-expression is something that has always been difficult for me.

I never know the right words to say so others can truly see

the troubles that I face and the emotions that I feel.

I never know which feelings to express or which I should conceal,

or which people to explain what goes on inside of my head.

Sometimes instead of expressing emotions, I just wish I were dead.

Poetry is an outlet for me to unravel my brain,

it's more than just an art, it helps to keep me sane.

Some don't understand the power of poetry,

but for me, it is an opportunity to set myself free.
