Rumors

Location

Rumors,
they spread around like wild fire
spread around
all leading back to you
left feeling insecure
and alone

You say "It’s just a rumor"
"It won’t get to me"
you lied
feeling pride
until confronted
"Still won’t bother me"
you lied
feeling ashamed

The tormenters
laughing at you, still
they spread the rumor
the lie
to keep the tie
the tounge
like a snake's
your life is at stake
the gun in your hand
you have the plan
a life lost
no lesson learned
nothing gained
nothing earned

Though the story hangs
the rumor unheard
but the name spoken
the clown fools
the clown lies
all with firmiliar ties
but now you can’t lie

                                                                                                                  Accept it
                                                                                                          with the tears shed
                                                                                                              the blood bled
                                                                                                               but in the end
                                                                                                               a rumor is still
                                                                                                                   just a lie
