Rising Up

Land of the free and home of the brave.

We take the world's pitiful and their worst.

Freedom and happiness is all that we crave,

The poor, however, are forever cursed.

We all want to live the American dream,

That hard work and sweat can beget success.

But the rules, the rich have already deemed,

The poor are yet again oppressed.

Today we have the power to liberate ourselves,

We are smarter and more determined than ever.

Success is right there on the top shelf,

The chains holding us down, we can sever.

So stand and rise to the task

Your time to shine is now.

Tell the powerful to sit and bask,

We'll take back our freedom, this we vow.
