I didn't mind Paul Revere until now

cruelly depicted

on the silken noose

cinched tight to keep his head up

And with a cry of

"The liberals are coming!" 

he sneers behind crooked teeth 

that we are 

naive 

But I'd rather be naive than a cynic.
