Red Fire

Red Fire

You amazed me, with your red fire
You created such beauty, beauty I have never seen before
People would follow you everywhere but I was the one
You asked to stay
So I did, I did anything you asked me to do
You were the one that played with fire and never got burnt
Who was I to you?
Days were spent together, me adoring you
And you all the while spitting the red fire
For some time, I was yours alone
Then my mind wandered and I watched you
I wanted to impress you, my red lover
I learned the art; soon I could spit the red fire too
And while you watched me, I saw no wonder
Only bitterness and anger
I knew you would leave me then
And you did
Leaving nothing behind but a vivid memory
See, I had become something more
And you weren’t the same
The haze was cleared and you were just a man
Half of me is gone now, that much is true
But I don’t mind all that much, I amaze the world
With my own red fire
