The Question
Another day has dawned
Another night is gone.
Time keeps slipping away
Leaving us day by day
Each one different yet the same
And all escape as quickly as they came.
Young men grow up to be old
And warm hearts slowly turn cold
Such is the way of life,
Everything brings joy or strife.
At the end we all end up in the same place
Under ground sleeping in a wooden case.
So why live if only to die?
Is there a reason why?
Is it enough to simply survive?
There has to be more to this death-like life.
This is the question caught in my brain
Is there any point to pleasure or pain?
If memory is the only one that survives,
Then shouldn't that be the focus of our lives?
Our legacy and memory
Are what will determine our story.
So the best thing to do is to live
And offer others what we have to give.
For even when God is your constant guide,
Can you love him if you don't love those by your side?
