The Promise

Location

"Tell me, tell me, tell me once more.
The words you say before you walk out the door.
Please don't go, don't leave me here alone.
How will I know if you will ever return home?
I promise I won't tug at your hand.
If you tell me those words once again.
I promise I won't shed a tear.
If you tell me before you leave me here.
How will I sleep with you in my head?"
Then he stopped her there and said:
"I love you so, I love you so
And I promise I will never let you go"
Ten years have passed since then.
At the time she was only eleven.
No communication between her and her father.
It's her 21st birthday and still no bother.
She went to celebrate with family and friends.
But still no sign of him I'm the end.
When she returned home that night,
There was a letter that have her such delight.
She opened it and there she read
The words that he last said:
"I love you so, I love you so
And I promise I will never let you go. "
