Pondering

Pondering

When the mind is free to wonder

But often chooses to fonder.

In corners where it should not be

Learning things one cannot see.

Where touch and feel fail,

The mind pushes back the hourly vail.

It expands lessons learned in sun and rain

And causes one to marvel from where they came.

Of trails that were blazed through trial,

In recollection, lead one to smile.

Mountains climbed and sidewalks ran

The squishy ray and the great eagle’s span

Are brought back to life in stunning detail.

So when the mind is spinning without fail

Remember to ponder, and avoid the pale and stale.

For nothing lived truly has to sleep and die

When memory reminds them how to live and fly.
