I love when it flows

Like the smoothest of streams

I can let everything go

Sweet memories and dark dreams

Poetry uplifts me

When I get let down

Poetry sets me free

From the stressful chains that I am bound

Poetry is more

Than words on a page

It’s felt in the core

And can soothe any rage
