Pause

Location

Sometimes

I want to pause

And bask in the light

Of a moment when

Happiness fills my view

I would walk

Among the frozen

People and things

Staring at their smiles

Of pure elation

Feet float

Ready to soar

Only air between

Pure joy

And earthly soil

Hands are raised

Above upturned heads

Shouting towards the sky

Which we have risen high enough in

To fly with the birds

I know

That I can’t leave the world on pause

Forever

Because happiness isn’t a moment

But a treasure

I press play

Watch as the smiles grow

The jumps reach full height

The shouts growing louder

And I bask in the jubilation

I smile

As the joy flares

And then fades

I wait for my spade to find

Another treasure
