One Simple Word

Location

The butterflies flitter in my stomach,
As your eyes meet mine,
I turn away,
But I can still feel your eyes on me.

My body tells me to meet your gaze,
But my mind is insecure,
I push against the cool metal,
And hear the faint click,
As I walk into the night.

I will myself to return,
To feel the your warmth,
of your skin against mine.

I stride towards you,
With great conviction,
And utter the simple word.
"Hello".
