Oh Mother

There once was a mother

Who lost her lover

And all she had was a child

Despite her care

And the life she shared

The mother slowly grew wild

As the child screamed

The mother schemed

The child could live no longer

It was a reminder

Of who wasn't beside her

The demons she couldn't conquer

On a cold, dark night

With an absence of light

And snow falling heavily down

The baby awoke

The mother broke

And threw baby on the ground

The child froze

The ghosts arose

The mother decided to die

Back inside

She took her life

And there the bodies lie
