It sat there, on its godly pedestal,

Alone.

All its Friends of the Chocolate were unmistakably

Gone. Vanished.

O Dear Cookie

Sweet Cookie

O Cookie

Tell me your secrets of survival.

Tell me how

Your drippity milk chocolate chips

Sprinkled so artistically on you.

Tell me how no one chose you.

And O pray

Do not forget your secret

Of hiding your irresistable scent

Among the poor unfortunate others.

You, Cookie,

Belong in a museum

You are beautiful, majestic

The Mona Lisa of cookies.

The spotlight is on you

Sweet Cookie

Do not break down

Do not fall apart.

You delectable

Scrumptious

Sweet

Chocolatey

Beautifully scented

Warm

Cookie.

And I am so sorry to report

You are mine.

Forever.

*Cue in evil laughter*
