No one knows I cared

Location

We were small, tiny children

Friends to the end we would say

Loving caring laughing living

Learning and growing together

We were “big kids” now, but still fairly young

Inseparable, no one could come between us

The year end came with separation and hate

We were there for each other, still friends to the very end

I moved away, hoping our friendship would stay

When I came back I saw

That all the rules had changed

Best friends no more

Time apart had weakened us

We no longer knew each other as we once had

We were growing up

Our friendship had faded, and together forever was gone

Then one night, without a warning and without a reason why

All the rules changed again…

Maybe he couldn’t take it

Maybe he didn’t want it

But in everyone’s ears rings the question… Why?

That night he took his own life

Causing pain for all around him

Our friendship I went back to

Our friendship I hung on to

Reminding me of how we once were

I miss that time, I want it back

I wish his time on earth didn’t have to be cut so short

Now my feelings are hidden inside

Burned and buried with him

So no one knows I cared…
