Night Bird by T.C.Fulton

Stars..like cars..passing in the night..
Falling away...like street lamps fading in the rear view..
Years passing ..quietly slipping..into the shadows..
The gentle breeze hugs the sand as the waves roll..
Idly the songbird sings..whippoorwill..
Only a moonlit night can reflect the shattering sky..
Every wave that wakes a lovers heart...
I'm not afraid of losing you...only afraid of..forgetting..
What it's like to breathe you in..
Smelling the flowers in the spring..
Tasting the water drops of falling rain..
What it's like to know that I'm alive..
Aware suddenly of every little thing that's full of beauty..
Is it so hard to wait with me..until the sun..comes up..
To let the ocean shine it's spotlight on our souls..
I'm just a little boy sitting in the sand......growing old.

The best way to change the world..is..well..
I guess planting a flower..an idea... something beautiful that grows..maybe a cure for some terrible illness..maybe a little bit of sunshine on a dark rainy day..
I just have this one life to live..might as well give it away..
