I'm tiered of waking up to see the news.
How many died?
Who bombed who?
When I see the headlines I sigh,
They outnumber those that show any hope,
Faith in humanity so hard to restore.
So I am left to think
Why can't we all get along?
Let people live in peace, and see another day.
We bomb one another for our petty differences,
We kill the innocent to create fear,
We take children from their families,
We leave the world in tears.
Why kill a person who has done nothing wrong?
Based upon a suspicion that has many flaws.
We kill civilians on a war upon terror,
We are hypocrites in that sense for we are the terrorists to them.
How can we claim to be so powerful when we can't keep our people safe?
Form bombings in parks, shootings in places people once thought to be safe.
We claim to bring freedom,
We claim to bring peace,
But we only seem to bring disaster
We only seem to bring death,
We bring conflict with us, rather than the peace we try to protect.
The day we all learn to love the world will be united.
We'll still have our differences, but no longer war.
We won't be on the verge if nuclear destruction,
We will live to see nuclear disarmament.
Families will be complete, people will smile,
We will come together and face the troubles that have been around for a while.
The day we learn to love the world would find peace,
The violence would end,
The nations would unite into one team.
We'd seek those who are to disturb the delicate balance,
That threaten to bring death and destruction.
When will we get along?
When can we find peace?
I pray it is soon, for the number of dead continues to increase.
For now all I can say is that my thoughts are with those mourning,
My thoughts are with the injured and dead,
With anyone who has felt the effects of our ignorant state.
My thoughts are with all of you, and my thoughts will never rest.
