The Never Ending Dance
It’s a never ending dance,
Between me and you.
That started the very first day,
That I laid eyes upon you.
We soon fell in love,
But that quickly began to fade.
And soon neither of us could remember,
From where our relationship once came.
But neither of us,
Were able to move on.
Both still stuck in the past,
Listening to our hearts fickle songs.
Both love and passion,
Were emotions that we once knew.
And the day finally came,
When our hearts no longer cooed.
And we both soon discovered,
That those were impulses,
Which we desired,
To no longer pursue.
Unable to move forward,
But prevented from going back.
We both sit here aimlessly,
Not willing to let go of our pasts.
Our love for each other,
Is overshadowed by hate.
Perhaps being together,
Is not in our fate.
It’s just too bad,
That we didn’t realize this.
Before our first kiss,
Or our very first date.
