My piano teacher

Those black and white keys

That every person sees

Is significant to me

One woman changed my life

When lessons began one night

When life became depressing

She was my biggest blessing

She told me “You can do it”

When I couldn’t get through it

Hours and hours on the same bench

My progress moved only an inch

But my shyness found rescue

And my confidence was flowing through

Great things happened

More than I imagined

Grand Finalist at the fair

My old soul wouldn’t dare

So thank you Lisa for being my mentor

And getting me out of my life’s war
