My Name is
Location
Taking subtle breaths,
I glance both ways
and take two steps ahead.
Away from the threads
that bind me, I push on
toward the verge.
Sleeves and wishes
thoughts and needs
are curtains closed.
Around the bend
is the park where
I fell in love; just
down the street
death kissed my lips
for the first time
and courted me
for what felt like
forever.
Drenched in rain
that smelled like sorrow
I simply sat
for days that became years
and then I didn't.
My Name is Conqueror.
My Name is Defiant,
Blinking in the blaze
of midday sun.
