My Humanity
It is inside of us,
That which I cannot live without.
It gives us spirit,
And our strength,
and our warmth and our hearts.
Without it,
We are nothing,
Nothing of importance, really.
Nothing but bones holding up flesh.
Nothing but words that are empty.
But with it,
Our thoughts have clarity,
And what we say has meaning.
We are no longer soulless dark creatures,
We are humans, simply speaking.
It is inside of us,
That which I cannot live without.
It gives us feelings,
And our thoughts,
And our dignity and our hearts.
Which of course,
Is what humanity is all about.
