My Brother's Keeper

Rest now little brother do not make a fuss.

Learn to know you words and speak with a leveled mind.

This world will be harsh and will not change its ways.

If not now, please learn in time.

I know that you are lost, once I stood where you now stand.

Yes, father is gone. No, he will not return.

Listen now little brother, keep your attention fixed.

Soon, one day I must go but know that I will return.

For you my little brother, for you alone.

In my absence you must protect those we love.

Our sisters and our mother.

Hear me little brother, I don’t have much time.

The day will soon come when I must truly leave you behind.

And only then will I not return.

Rest now little brother dream a dream.

When you awake, I will be here.

Until the time comes that I shall watch from a distance.

For when you came into my life.

I vowed then and always to protect you.
