Music to My Ears

The marching band marches,
The orchestra bows,
The jazz band swings,
The choir sings,

But not even the concert band can play
The music to my ears.

The flute sings,
The trumpet screams,
The violin weeps,
But they are sounds.

What is music?
If it's not a symphony,
If it's not a solo,
What is music to my ears?

The chirp of a bird,
The song of a cricket,
The bugle of a moose,
Nothing more than sounds to my ears.

What links sound to music?
A wave of sounds seems to be
Nothing more than a sound wave.
What is music to my ears.

The rustle of a plant's leaves,
The grown of tree's trunk,
The gurgle of a mountain spring,
Still nothing more than sound?

The beat of my heart.
A sound, but not.
A rhythm with out music.
What is music to my heart?

The sound of nature,
The noises of animals,
The notes of instruments,
But these do not produces music.

The world around us produces love,
And love is music to my heart.

I love the songs of nature,
I love the tunes of the animals,
I love the symphony of instruments.
I love music.

The marching band marches,
The orchestra bows,
The jazz band swings,
The choir sings,

And I hear music.
