Monster Under My Bed
Remember that monster under my bed,
Claws like a lion and six eyes on its head.
That old monster creeping beneath me
Always making me shout for my dad to go see.
That monster who never did one bad thing to me,
Didn't even grab my leg when I got up to pee.
But I just had to turn six and no longer believe,
No longer believe and let that monster leave.
I thought I had beat every monster out there,
I thought I was free, in bliss, without a care.
But now I'm all grown up and they're all around.
The monster has multiplied without a sound.
So silently, so quietly, I didn't hear him doing it.
Now I'm left with many monsters I don't even get.
So looking back on that old monster under my bed
He wasn't so bad, even with the six eyes on his head.
