She taught me how to tie my shoe,

She made me laugh when I was blue.

She encouraged me to learn to swim,

Showed up at games that I did not win.

She drove me back and forth to school,

And showed me how to use a tool.

She modeled what it means to be great,

By showing up and not being late.

She made sure I gained AP knowledge,

So I would be prepared for college.

She taught me how to serve the Lord,

And how to wield my spiritual Sword.

She loves me more than words can say,

Even when I choose the wrong way.

I can’t fathom my life without her,

I’d be like a cat without a purr.

Aside from being my family’s center,

Mom is the Most Outstanding Mentor.

This poem is about:
My family
