There is a surge in the universe

When you are in a moment completely,

When you meet a soul in that moment too.

When I shared infinity with you.

Infinite, yet only as large as the distance between one and two

Lasting the span of when our eyes met.

Met and reconnected in a new space

Where stories once begun, continue.

An intersection is all it is

Choosing not to blow by the stop

Meeting a soul behind a smile

Resting in your laugh

Tell me your stories, I'll tell you mine

Looking for the overlaps

Feeling intelligence in the timber of your voice

Your honest compliments cause me to trip over my grin

Time moves quickly, nothing comes easy

Except what I feel

Gritting my teeth against the everything

Flowing around and between us

With the moon above us

Reflected in the lake below

And raindrops kissing my skin

My eyes tell the stars of your gentleness

I wasn't ready, until I was

It was me, it was you, it was our moments

And a moment that wasn't

Until it was

Can we go back there, joking and laughing

I want to paint the night sky and bright stars on your face

Taste the pine in the air

Feel your arms surrounding me

Connect in words spoken

In the inch of space between our lips

Connect at the hands, at the eyes

At the smile

Then wisper goodnight

Release your embrace

Draw away my fingertips

And turn my eyes toward home
