Love is not fear.
For those dressed in long draping sleeves
on the sunniest of days,
quivering as they walk
wincing subtly with each step
For those with lilac bruises
outlined by hints of yellow
For those with tinder ribs,
hushed spirits,
and restlessly terrified minds
For those with faltering confidence
and relentless insecurity
For those with smeared mascara,
tears,
and the sheer feeling of worthlessness
For those with thickly coated concealer
on an aching jaw,
trembling hands,
and a tongue that lies so peculiarly:
Fear is not love.
