Love Lost

There comes a time,

in life, in love,
two paths that intertwine untwist
and while we slowly unravel, my heart travels to the abyss.

To some degree, I’ve lost myself—
in you and you can’t see.
You’re blind because I’ve lost you first,
I’ve lost that look you give to me.

I no longer get that warm embrace at night when I can’t sleep.
I miss you more than what you believe,
because to you, I’m full of deceit.
I am losing myself because I’ve lost you,
and of all my lies, this is true.

Just knowing our love is failing,
I am falling.
I need
you.
