Love Comes Both Ways

Do you remember that one night,

when we first got together?

Pure and innocent

Beautiful yet risky

I wanted to be with you too.

Down low we took our days,

there were certain dangers

Family and society,

stakes were high

We ride or die.

From then we grew strong,

mistakes were made,

but goals were created

Feelings tried

Trust everlasting

Problems arise

but one was never jealousy

Never hurt pride

Never controlling

I don’t want to lose you

Love is all we want

It’s what we share

I’m with you during rough times

I stay patient when you’re off

It’s because I love you

Because I love you

I’ll be there for you

I’ve never been happier

I’ve never been safer

It’s because you love me too.
