All we know, from young to old

it to hide ourselves, to create a new person.

We lose ourselves in creating a new you.

Something that hides who we really are

so that if anyone were to say something bad,

it wouldn't matter because it wasn't about the real you.

But what if people liked the mask?

You would now know that people don't really like you.

Just the covering, not you.

No one would no who you are, not even you.

Would that really be better than being you?

I guess we wouldn' know because we have already lost ourselves.
