Looks are a Lottery

Skin, smooth and tan, a glow

That the sun envy’s and the skies adore

A look so divine that I’ll never know

Curly hair delicately intertwined

Displayed with such elegance, a goal of mine

To be able to flaunt with confidence

And pride in my beauty, to be noticed

And treated like a goddess, endlessly

My reflection is disappointing, well,

Drowning in dissatisfaction I plea

To be freed from this unattractive shell

But life’s not fair-- looks are a lottery
