The Little Girl Who Could Fall Asleep

I am too young to miss my childhood.
I am hurt by my memories that burn in my head.

A little girl who has a mommy and daddy who loved each other.
A little girl who could never hurt anyone.
A little girl who is only afraid of monsters under her bed.

I know now that people do change.
I don't recognize who has the same face as me.

A little girl who dreamed of colorful things.
A little girl who thought she could become an astronaut.
A little girl who loved life.

      I don't have passion anymore.
I am slipping away too fast.

A little girl who dreamed of a prince.
A little girl who held her dolls like babies.
A little girl who wanted to live to be a hundred.

      I can't see a future.
I don't know how much longer I'll have one.

A little girl who always got tucked in.
A little girl who said her prayers each night.
A little girl who could fall asleep.
