Little Freedom

Standing inside of a room

with all these choices.

None seem to make you happy,

None seem to give you their all.

Why does this world say we are free?

This freedom we all have,

where one man can have this opinion,

but the other can not,

because he is called a hypocrite.

Why does this world say we are free?

Freedom once meant that

we were all equal.

Equality has limits too.

There was never a time where freedom rang.

Or where a child could do what they wanted

without being punished

for their actions.

Why does this world say we are free?

I am a slave to this world.

Bound up in chains.

Finally broken,

but that had a cost.

Price tags everywhere.

even on the singing girl,

on the man who doesn’t have enough

and even on living this life that’s so called free.

Someone’s always giving to the lost cause.

Why does this world say we are free?

You fool, you think too simply.

We are all fooled,

by this little thing called freedom.
