Letting It Out

drop pen to paper

the writing’s done

this masterpiece complete

the realization of your work

chills you head to feet

a thing you never thought you’d finish

sitting on your desk

waiting to be printed or

perhaps sent to the press.

writing can be difficult

no age or level required,

but if you take the time to think

you won’t be so tongue-tied.

I never thought my journaling

been at it three years now,

would help me so, down the road

depression, identity, and other heavy loads

released my fill to quill.

there’re many things that people do

to help relieve their minds

music, sports, drama, love

it all fixes what’s above

up in your head, it’s delicate

from good to bad, so fast

and if you let that badness grow,

well, a lot of people pass.
