A Letter to You

Hello,
I have been seeing what you’ve been doing...
I have been wanting to ask you why you’re here.
I remember seeing you at arm's’ length,
But now you are caped to my silhouette.
From my conversations with people over my lifetime,
People always seem to describe you in certain events.

Honestly you scare me,
Like I said, “ I have been seeing what you’ve been doing…”
To me.

You grab me by my neck,
Choking me till I weeze,
Leaning over me,
Speaking your evil through my lips.
I see your smirk,
I see the goosebumps on your arms.
I know you get a high off of this.
And I know when you are coming to get another hit.

You feel me struggle for air…
For control.
My struggle turns you on,
Knowing how helpless I am to your grip.
When you done with your fix
You leave me to face your destruction.
As tears run down my face,
When I drop to my knees in the rubble,
I can hear you clapping,
Appreciating the art you created.
I can hear you laugh every time I whisper under my breath,
“How can I escape this?”
I can feel you,
And how you love this game.

You know how frightened I am of you.
That alone intrigues you.
I want to expose you,
But the fear you fertilized me with
Cripples me.

All I am conditioned to see
Is how people won't expect it to be you.
Because after all,
You have the same face as me.
