Let me live in your bed

Sun, 10/26/2014 - 15:38 -- shel

Let me live in your bed,
naked as a fish
ribs emerging day by day like gills as you steal my breath.
Moss will creep over my ankles -
oh, keep us from the harsh heavy air,
swim languidly through the sheets
close your eyes and kiss my wrist.
Turn the blinds to let the day filter through lazy dust,
leave me water and watch as I dwindle slowly,
drifting on the currents of your sighs.
Your fingertips will bubble up across my skin,
slip down my spine.
Let me disappear
with your pillow under my neck
and your eyelashes grazing my bones.
