Lasting Happiness

I’m not a mind reader, but I know about you

It’s something you want and I do too

It’s called happiness, we all seek that gold

It’s easy to find, at least that’s what I’m told

It’s finding some money rolled in a band

Or winning a prize like a trip to some land

Or how ‘bout a car, red, shiny, and new

The back seat has puppies just waiting for you

Yes, that’s happiness, we all seek that gold

That’s what it looks like, that’s what I’m told

But I’ve been inspired to look past and jest

That isn’t happiness, just pleasures at best

The money you’ll spend, it soon will be gone

The trip will be over, and soon you’ll come home

The car will get rusty, the pups will grow old

Those are just pleasures, not happiness gold

I’ll tell you the secret that inspired my mind

The secret to happiness is unleashing your kind

The gold will come, the gold will go

Make others happy and your heart will glow

Yeah in superb rhyming you tell of material short lived happiness and then the lasting greater happiness of making others happy. A great message, true and poetically said wow. Kudos.

Pls pleez. do review// comment my newest poem too, even though commenting is not common here but it's nice to hear from fellow humanity right?
