Land of Great Illusion

People come to America in search of opportunity

Freedom

Independence

Wouldn't it be tragic if that wasn't true for everybody?

Are there boundless opportunities for the young African American boy living in the slums

Dreaming

Hoping

For a better life?

The injustice of it all makes my blood boil

Oh but trust me,

In a flawless apartment in Manhattan there is an ivory skinned boy

He has the the world handed to him on a silver platter

What ever happened to the promise of us all being free and brave?

The American flag represents a land lost

50 stars

Sitting

Waiting

Wishing

We are being run by the boy in Manhattan who enjoyed Daddy's money

Crawling his way up the political ladder

Dividing families

Stealing our integrity

Harrassing women

"Let's build a wall!" he says

Many hard working Americans wring their hands in worry

Thinking,

What have we done?
