Just Me

Mon, 08/21/2017 - 07:42 -- RosaB88

The world is spinning way to fast,

I just want to slow it down.

The changes are driving me crazy

And I don't like who I am.

I miss when I was younger,

Can I just be me?

The summers in the woods,

And the mornings in the pool.

The ice cream before breakfast,

No worrying about school.

I miss when I was younger

And I just want to be me.

The world is going faster now,

And I'm not ready for the change.

The stress of life comes piling on,

The world won't give me a break.

I miss when I was younger

It was just me.

Grades spinning out of control,

Social life all a wreck.

I want the days of pretending,

And running beneath the trees.

I miss when I was younger.

Do you remember when I was just me?

Days in my grandmother's attic,

Nights with black and white TV.

The spoiling by grandparents,

Whatever I wanted to eat.

I miss when I was younger.

That was just me.
