The Joys of Life

Life is joy and joy’s in life,

but joy’s a waiting game.

and without joy there is no life,

they mix, they interchange.

learn to love and love to learn

of all the eye can see.

And only then will you go to bed

and wake up ready to be.

Love the little things in life,

like that little aloe plant,

that crazy cuddly kitten

or that paisley pair of pants.

Appreciate minute details,

find symbols in a story,

or pet the pretty petals

of a velvet morning glory.

When you go to sleep and say “goodnight”

and love the way it sounds

when it echoes through your bedroom

then you know true joy was found.

I find this joy and wake up ready

to face the average day

because I know the joys of life are waiting

to greet me on the way.
