Inspired

People can see the world however they choose,

Walk a mile in someone else’s shoes

Or walk their own way instead.

People are born with potential,

and they either let it die or let it turn into something torrential.

Me? I chose to foster it.

People tend to ask me,

“Where did your success come from?”

Me, I say, I’m the one.

The easiest option is almost always the less fruitful;

And if I’m being truthful,

I’ve never been one to take it easy.

I’ve worked hard to get to my present situation:

I didn’t throw it all away on temptation.

Sure, I’m the one who got here, but I couldn’t’ve done it alone.

It’s the way my sister laughs and my brother smiles,

the way my love drives for miles

with my hand in his.

These people made me and I made my way in the world.

I was born with potential and created something special.

As long as I’m inspired by myself and those around me, I’ll never get tired.
